PONTYPOOL are now just two points off the top following their 52-19 win over Newcastle Emlyn in the National Championship.
The defending champions ran in eight tries with Ben Sparks claiming a hat-trick.
Aaron Quick, Kieran Meek, Lloyd Lewis and Ben Parry also crashed over to add to a penalty try.
Matthew Lewis fired over five conversions to complete the scoring.
Llyr Jones, Dafydd Evans and Luke Hansford bagged Emlyn’s tries with Shaun Leonard kicking four points.
Cardiff Met continue to lead the way after beating Rhydyfelin 2621.
Barrie Karea and Adam Dove claimed the Met tries but the game was won at the tee as Russell Bennett kicked four penalties and two conversions to see the Students to victory.
David Gratton, Ross Lucas and Kevin Briggs all touched down for Rhydyfelin with Gratton adding all three conversions to secure a losing bonus point.
Elsewhere, Tata Steel were among the points as they thrashed Beddau 57-17.
Morgan Williams and Amir Jiwa-Walji shared five tries between them with the former celebrating a hat-trick.
Owen Thomas, David Griggs, Trystan Herdman and Jack Brooks bolstered the score further with Callum Bricknell booting six conversions.
Beddau missed out on a bonus point as they couldn’t add to tries from Josh Thomas, Adam Ashford and Ben Stevens. Hywel Chatham added a conversion.
In other action, One East Central champions Ystrad Rhondda sealed their sixth win in eight games with a 28-20 success over Newbridge.
Aron Clarke was at the double with Corey Shephard and Liam Davies also crashing over. Rhys Truelove added all four conversions to seal the win.
Lewis Hudd, Ben Snell and Eamon Rees replied for Newbridge with the latter adding the rest from the tee.
Meanwhile, Owen Howe played an integral role in Maesteg’s 19-15 win over Bedlinog.
Howe notched four penalties and added the conversion to Jacob Williams’ try.
Nathan Huish, Gareth Williams and Alex Meeson hit back for Bedlinog.
The other game saw Narberth edge to a 28-23 victory over Trebanos. John Morgan, Andrew Cooke and Jack Price touched down for Narberth with Nick Gale kicking 13 points.
