THE PROJECTS THAT THE £23.5M WILL GO TOWARDS:
£12 million in road improvements until 2021 as part of the Highways Asset Management Plan;
£4.2 million match funding on business units at Robertstown and Coedely which has received a £5 million in European grant funding to boost economic growth and employment in the area;
£2 million for additional extra care housing schemes for older people including at Maesyffynon in Aberaman and in Pontypridd;
£1.5 million for the A4119 dualling of 1.3km of the A4119, between Llantrisant Business Park and Coed Ely roundabout;
£1 million on strategic regeneration investment to regenerate town centres and encourage investment in the high street economy;
£1 million towards the Aberdare Bypass for 1.7km of road from the A4059 at Aberdare to link to the Croesbychan Roundabout at Hirwaun, as part of the proposed dualling of the A465 between Dowlais and Hirwaun;
£500,000 to support preliminary design, site investigation and ecological surveys for the eastern section of the Llanharan Bypass;
£300,000 towards making better use and traffic management to reduce congestion with particular focus on the Tonyerfail and Trebanog roundabouts on the A4119;
£250,000 for community hubs which will house council services, voluntary sector, local business and other public sector organisations under one roof with schemes progressing in Mountain Ash and Ferndale;
£200,000 to support Investigatory works for a cross valley type link at Treorchy which will help to alleviate congestion at Stag Square;
£200,000 to refurbish sports pavilions, upgrade sports pitches and repair parks infrastructure;
£200,000 to go towards the multi-million pound Eco Park at the Bryn Pica Waste Management Facility in Llwydcoed;
£100,000 for the community enabling fund to look at how services could be run differently;
£100,000 for flooding prevention works following the recent heavy rainfall.
