Driver cut from car after crash
A WOMAN was cut free from a car after it left the Rhigos Mountain Road.
The road was partially blocked between Treherbert and Rhigos on Thursday, November 1.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the woman who was later taken to hospital.
The crash involved one car and a woman suffered minor injuries, according to South Wales Police.
A police spokeswoman said they were called to the crash at 6.25pm.
Three fire crews from Treorchy, Hirwaun and Merthyr Tydfil attended the scene, and left at around 8.30pm.
Traffic monitors said the vehicle left the carriageway on the Rhigos side of the mountain and that the air ambulance was called to the scene.
The large amount of emergency services at the scene are blocking the road. A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said “several” crews were called to the scene just before 7pm on Thursday.
