Co-op Funer­al­care Be­reave­ment and Lone­li­ness Group is once a month at Christchurch, East Av­enue, Gadlys, Aber­dare CF44 8AS at 10am.

Every­one is wel­come to come along to meet new friends, re­fresh­ments – tea, cof­fee and biscuits are pro­vided.

The lot­tery num­bers for the draw on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 28 were 03, 13, 14, 19. The jack­pot stands at £370. Get your tick­ets for next week’s draw at the Mu­seum Shop. You can pur­chase a weekly ticket, a monthly ticket or a full 3 month. All pro­ceeds are used for projects in the mu­seum. The next draw will take place on Fri­day 4th Jan uary and re­sults will be pub­lished in this col­umn.

The Paul Robe­son Sings ex­hi­bi­tion is to re­main here for a few more weeks. This ex­hi­bi­tion has proved very pop­u­lar with vis­i­tors. Come and dis­cover the story of a 20th cen­tury hero and his con­nec­tion to the com­mu­ni­ties of South Wales, and those who went to Spain with the In­ter­na­tional Brigade.

World War I and the Cynon Val­ley. Ex­hi­bi­tion will move to the Cwtch in Jan­uary.

Two artists are col­lab­o­rat­ing to bring us “Ar­cane/ Enigma” which is the work of Rosalys An­thony, and Will Ten­nant - Thoughts (& Other Men­tal Ac­tiv­i­ties). Open to the pub­lic from Satur­day, Jan­uary 5 in the Oriel Space and Mez­za­nine gal­leries.

would like to thank all our friends, vol­un­teers and vis­i­tors for your sup­port in 2018. We have had a very suc­cess­ful year with vis­i­tor num­bers ex­ceed­ing 18,000 in 2018. We wish you a Happy New Year, and hope to see you in 2019.

A Vet­er­ans Group is cur­rently be­ing held at the Com­mu­nity Cen­tre in Fern­hill Es­tate for all vet­er­ans.

If you are aged 18-25, and suf­fer with men­tal health is­sues, in­clud­ing de­pres­sion and/or anx­i­ety, you may be in­ter­ested in men­tal health char­ity New Hori­zons’ Youth Project, held Mon­days, 4pm-8pm, and ev­ery fort­night on Satur­days from 12noon4pm.

New Hori­zons men­tal health char­ity has a cen­tre in Aber­dare which is open at the fol­low­ing times:

Mon­days, 4pm-8pm – Youth Project;

Tues­days, 11am-1pm – ac­tiv­i­ties, groups and train­ing;

Wed­nes­days, 9am-4pm – ac­tiv­i­ties, groups and train­ing. Closed bank hol­i­days. The team pro­vides sup­port and ad­vice, talks ac­tiv­i­ties such as mu­sic, art and craft, Wii, and free in­ter­net. lot­tery num­bers were drawn on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 21.

The num­bers were 03, 14, 15, 19. The jack­pot is now £5,307.
