Police seek Xmas tree video vandal

Mystery woman filmed pulling off lights:

-

SOUTH Wales Police are looking into a video which shows a woman dancing and apparently “wrecking” the Christmas tree in Aberdare town centre.

The video was posted to an Aberdare community Facebook page on Saturday.

It shows a woman wrapping herself in Christmas lights before running off and pulling them away from the tree. It was posted to Facebook, along with the caption: “This video was sent of someone damaging the Christmas Tree in the centre of Aberdare. What do you think the culprit should do? Some voluntary litter pick? Some marshaling at an event? Something else? Do you think that the clip should be passed on to the council or police?”

The video has sparked outrage online, with a number of people commenting on the post, describing the act as “pathetic”, “disrespectful” and “wanton damage”. However, others defend the woman and say she was merely acting as a “silly girl” and had had too much to drink.

But Rhondda Cynon Taf Council leader Andrew Morgan says he’s fed up of people damaging public property.

Cllr Morgan wrote on Twitter: “So who is the idiot that thinks wrecking the Aberdare Christmas tree is “Let’s name and shame so swpnorth can send them a £100 FPN!”
