There’s still time to plant tulip and hyacinth bulbs, pictured. They are a good choice for tubs and window boxes.
Cover newly planted spring bulbs with small mesh wire netting if squirrels are a problem.
Take precautions against rodents, below, looking for food and shelter in outbuildings and compost heaps. In rural areas, they can be a particular nuisance after farmers’ fields have been harvested.
