Man died after he was found with stab wounds Actor Ioan announces engagement
A MAN died after being found with fatal wounds in the car park of a hospital.
An inquest was opened into the death of Conall Evans at Pontypridd Coroners’ Court on Friday.
A post-mortem examination report carried out by Dr Stephen Leadbeatter heard how the 30-year-old had sustained stab wounds to the right of his chest involving ascending aorta, which is the first section of the largest blood vessel in the body.
Mr Evans had been discovered seriously injured outside Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda car park, Tonypandy, on January 1. CPR was carried out on Mr Evans, of Llewellyn Street, Pentre, but he died.
Coroner Patricia Morgan said: “I have reason to suspect his death is violent in nature and therefore an inquest is required which I open today and will suspend pending the result of ongoing police investigations. I would like to express my condolences on behalf of the coroners’ service to the family of Mr Evans.”
Following Mr Evans’ death, his family paid tribute to him in a statement which read: “Conall was a very well-loved son, brother and family member and he will be dearly missed.”
Ashley Davies, 30, from Pentre, and Dewi Morgan, 24, from Tonypandy, have been charged with his murder.
Both previously appeared at Merthyr Tydfll Magistrates’ Court and made their first appearance at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday, January 5.
They were remanded in custody to appear at the same court on February 8 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
