JD CYMRU NORTH/SOUTH

-

MOLD Alexandra ended their season with another piece of silverware after they stunned JD Cymru South champions Briton Ferry Llansawel 4-2 to bag the Welsh Blood Service League Cup.

Mold added the national crown to the regional title they won by defeating Llandudno to win the North section.

Daniel Warren put Mold ahead on 13 minutes, but Ferry responded when Luke Bowen levelled from the penalty spot.

Warren put Mold back in front before the break and skipper Rhys Nash made it 3-1.

Jake Roberts added a fourth 10 minutes later, before Bowen pulled a goal back for Ferry.

Newport City came from 3-1 down to beat Penrhyncoch 5-4 and lift the FAW Amateur Trophy.

Calum Bateman fired City in front, but Penrhyncoch hit back with goals from Harri Horwood and Rhys Jenkins. When a Frederick Stevens own goal gave them a two-goal cushion just before the hour mark, they looked to be on the way to glory.

Newport levelled through Cole Jarvis and Richard Noyes. And with just minutes remaining, Joseph Ogugua poked home.

Ogugua added his second in added time to seal the deal, despite skipper Tom Evans netting a fourth Penrhyncoch goal.

In JD Cymru South, Pontardawe Town were relegated despite a 2-1 win at Baglan Dragons.

Andzejs Dubjaga and Tyler Aylward’s efforts proved in vain for Pontardawe after Llantwit Major’s 3-0 win at Carmarthen Town. Chris Bell, Matthew Kimmins and Ioan Emanuel grabbed the goals to save Llantwit.

Taffs Well, despite losing 3-1 at home against Ammanford, stay up on goal difference.

Abertillery went down 5-2 at home against Afan Lido, while Caerau Ely beat Abergavenny 3-1.

Cwmbran Celtic were 3-1 home winners against Goytre United. Cambrian & Clydach and Trefelin BGC shared a 0-0 draw.

In JD Cymru North, Tom Weir’s goal earned Prestatyn Town a 2-2 draw at Gresford Athletic to save them from relegation – and send Porthmadog down instead.

Weir’s leveller came a minute after Prestatyn, having taken an early lead through Luke Wiltshire, had fallen 2-1 behind to Dominic Deacon’s double.

Porthmadog lost 3-0 at home against title-chasers Holywell Town. Goals from Danny Andrews, Jamie Breese and Ilan Ap Gareth secured the points for Holywell, who need a point to be crowned champions. But having opted not to lodge an appeal after being refused a Tier 1 Licence, it will be Flint Town United who go up instead. Flint secured a 2-1 win at Denbigh Town with Elliott Reeves and James Owen on target.

Airbus UK Broughton won 2-1 at Guilsfield. Bangor 1876 beat Llanidloes Town 4-0. Chirk AAA are the other side to drop out of the second tier.
