ROLLS’ £5bn DEAL
BRITISH engine maker Rolls-Royce has secured new orders worth £5billion since the end of June.
The company said trading across all four businesses was “good”but it was unwilling to forecast the impact of the economic downturn on its markets.
Chief executive Sir John Rose said: “Clearly, the global economy has deteriorated but it is too early to determine the precise effect this will have.”
Recent contracts won by Rolls-Royce have included a £96million deal to help the Royal Navy power two of the world’s largest warships.
