Delta deal cre­ates big­gest air­line

DELTA Air Lines has com­pleted its $2.8bil­lion (£1.7bil­lion) ac­qui­si­tion of North­west Air­lines cre­at­ing the world’s big­gest air­line.

Delta and North­west closed the deal just hours af­ter the U.S. Jus­tice Depart­ment said it had no anti-trust ob­jec­tions.

The com­pany will keep Delta’s name and its At­lanta head­quar­ters. Chief ex­ec­u­tive Richard An­der­son used to run North­west.
