Has modern tecHnology gone too far?

-

Yes

I SHUDDER to think of how much trouble this latest technological innovation will cause (“Strapped for cash? Well, now you can pay with your jacket”, September 2).

When the iPod was first released, its iconic white earphones were an advert to speculative thieves everywhere that the wearer had several hundred pounds worth of kit in their pocket.

And this snazzy coat will be exactly the same. I’d be scared to leave it on the back of my chair if I was in public.

Oh, for a return to the days of the humble cheque book.

No

I MARVELLED reading about the coat that can pick up the tab. It’s such a simple but useful invention.

We are lucky to be living in a truly wonderful age when it comes to computer technology.

Contactless payments make me feel happy knowing that I don’t need to carry large amounts of petty cash on my person.

To be able to pay for something in this manner but with the added advantage of not actually having to unzip my coat is an incredible feat.

Hopefully this will make long queues at the tills a thing of the past.
