No guarantees Mr Cameron! Warning over new EU deal
Parliament will look at it very closely and some groups, I suspect the Greens, will be very hostile to it.”
Mr Farage said: “Many groups are spoiling for a fight. This deal is not worth the paper it’s written on.
“I am not sure this deal is the kind of second- hand car the British public will buy from the Prime Minister. There is no reason to trust him. This deal is no more than Cam’s sham.” Liz Bilney, the chief executive of Leave. EU, said: “The president of the European Parliament is confirming what we have said all along – David Cameron’s deal is not binding without a new treaty to which the European Court in Strasbourg has to adhere.”
Brussels insiders said Mr Cameron looked “stressed” as his talks reached their final stages. He met other senior MEPs but avoided a roundtable session where he could have been quizzed by Mr Farage.
Downing Street said that MEPs had offered broad support and had “made clear their support for the proposals and were ready to take any necessary EU legislation through the European Parliament swiftly”.
