Anti- EU groups must now unite and work together
YESTERDAY saw the launch of The Go Movement, yet another anti- EU campaign group. Trying to keep track of the various anti- EU organisations vying to be officially chosen to lead the out campaign is frustratingly complex.
The good news is that The Go Movement has been established as an umbrella organisation. It brings together the existing Grassroots Out and Leave. EU pressure groups as well as business leaders and MPs from across the political divide.
Eurosceptics are still not fully united. Most notably Vote Leave, which is also battling for the official designation, declined to participate. But this still represents a glimmer of hope for all of us who want to win back our independence.
The referendum is there to be won. David Cameron’s renegotiation has been widely panned. The migrant crisis has not been stemmed. The eurozone is still teetering on the brink of catastrophe.
The current polls show that there is every chance the campaign to leave could win the referendum. But it will not do so without an effective and coordinated campaign strategy in the build- up to the vote.
This opportunity is too precious to squander because personal and political differences got in the way of putting together a united effort. The only thing that matters is that everybody comes together to fight under the same banner.
The sooner that happens the better our chances of victory.
