We are expecting Biggar hits

- By Matt Lloyd

DAN BIGGAR has been warned he is in the French firing line.

The Wales fl y- half has become a marked man since his World Cup heroics and there is unlikely to be any hiding place against France next Friday, especially after Yoann Maestri was cleared to play the Six Nations clash in Cardiff. Les Bleus lock Maestri escaped with a warning for an illegal shoulder charge on Ireland’s Johnny Sexton.

But kicking coach Neil Jenkins insists Wales have no fears over Biggar, who had made a “miracle” recovery from an ankle injury only last week. Jenkins said: “When you are a key player like Johnny or Dan then you know you’re going to be in the firing line. There is no hiding place because it’s hard to protect them all the time. But Dan is tough and can handle it.

“I’m sure teams will target him but it’s a compliment to how he is playing and what we are doing.” Former fl y- half Jenkins added: “Ireland and Scotland both targeted Dan at kick- offs and we dealt with it. Dan will front up and keep doing what he does best.”

DANNY Cipriani will leave Sale and return to his first club Wasps this summer. The 28- year- old had a season left on his existing deal but has exercised a break clause .
