New Flower deal

WIGAN prop Ben Flower has signed a four- year contract extension until the end of the 2020 season.

The Warriors fought off Super League and the NRL interest to retain the Wales star, 28, whose deal was due to expire this year.

Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan said: “We were aware of signifi cant interest from many high- profi le clubs.

“Rugby director Kris Radlinski and I have been in negotiations with representatives for some time now and are happy that the conclusion of those negotiations have seen Ben commit his future to Wigan.”
