Veteran is forced to sell medals

AN IRAQ war hero is selling his Military Cross to help him forget the “bad” memories.

Trevor Coult, who was a colour sergeant in the Royal Irish Regiment, suffers from posttrauma­tic stress.

He was awarded the medal, the third highest military honour, for fi ghting off bombers in Baghdad in 2005.

The 41- year- old, from Woodbridge, Suffolk, will auction nine medals and memorabili­a on March 19 in Martlesham. Suffolk. The proceeds – expected to reach £ 40,000 – will go to his son Sebastian, fi ve.

He said: “The medals bring back bad memories for me.”
