Blues eye a leaving present for Guus

CHELSEA winger Willian has backed his side to beat Paris Saint- Germain on Wednesday on their way to improbable Champions League glory.

The Brazilian believes his side are good enough to triumph in Europe and wants to do it for interim boss Guus Hiddink as a thank you for rescuing their season.

“We can win it,” said Willian. “It will be diffi cult because there are so many good teams. We have to think about Wednesday and then step by step we can go to the fi nal.

“There is always pressure at Chelsea to win titles, we know that . One title will be great for us, for Guus, so we’ll try to give him one trophy to go with.

“It’s the biggest game of the season . We have to show our quality in the game. It will be diffi cult for us but we can win .”

Chelsea were out of sorts and second best for long periods against Stoke and could only claim a point after a late Mame Diouf goal cancelled out Bertrand Traore’s effort . Hiddink knows his side cannot afford a repeat against PSG but will have striker Diego Costa back after being rested . And Hiddink said: “We need to be angry in a controlled way on Wednesday.

“The players must be fully concentrated because PSG are a class team and they will punish you if you start sloppy.”

Chelsea are 10 points off fourth but Stoke boss and ex- Chelsea player Mark Hughes believes they should forget about Europe and concentrate on the league.

“I would have thought getting into the Champions League by their league position was their better chance than winning the Champions League,” he said.

“Nemanja Matic said they can win every game – when other teams’ players make those statements you pretty much dismiss them. But you don’t when a Chelsea player does it as you know they have that capability. We stopped them in their tracks but don’t back against them.”
