Light nights do not suit us all, Richard Madeley

PLEASE tell Richard Madeley not all of us hate the darker evenings ( Richard & Judy, March 5).

Does he ever consider many people actually dislike the summer, with its light evenings and mornings? Not to mention all those noisy barbecues? Winter nights are a chance to relax and let families be together. An experiment to keep to British Summer Time was tried in the 1970s and we all hated it. Mary Fautley,
