Is diving taking
STAY OF EXECUTION: Talks but no axe for McClaren IT was the decision that sparked a massive debate once again about the issue of diving in English football. Did Christian Benteke dive to earn the stoppage- time penalty he then converted himself to clinch a 2- 1 win for Liverpool at Selhurst Park on Sunday? Or was the Belgian genuinely fouled by Palace’s Damien Delaney, who slid in to challenge? Benteke himself said: “I think he touched me, otherwise I wouldn’t go down.” Now Delaney has responded – with other leading names in football joining in the argument. TONY BANKS reports.
