Mother’s Day memories of a smiling, elegant mum

I READ the Vanessa Feltz article about how traumatic Mother’s Day can be for some (“Mother’s Day survivors”, March 8).

My dear 91- year- old mum died last Thursday after a short illness and I spent Sunday in mourning.

She was always smiling and elegant and never bitter about leaving Germany and her parents on the Jewish refugee Kindertransport, aged just 14.
