All owners should have to microchip their animals

WITH more than 70 per cent of dogs admitted to us for rehoming not chipped, we hope to reunite more dogs with owners when it becomes compulsory from next month (“Millions face fines over pet chips”, March 7).

But with almost a third of cats admitted to our centres as strays, too, we want all pet owners to microchip all their animals.
