Hey lads, guess who’s back…
LUIS SUAREZ wished Liverpool good luck ahead of their Europa League showdown with Manchester United after making a surprise visit to his former club.
The Uruguay striker took advantage of a blank midweek for Barcelona to return to Melwood, where he met manager Jurgen Klopp for the fi rst time and chatted to his former team- mates.
Suarez, 29, accompanied by his daughter Delfi na and son Benji, spent four hours at the training ground, where he watched the squad train ahead of tomorrow’s last- 16, fi rst- leg clash at Anfi eld.
“It was fantastic to see the lads,” said Suarez. “The people that work here are really nice and I miss them, so I wanted to come and see some friends.
“I have really good friends here. I had a really good three and a half years here and when you have a really good moment in your life, it is something you remember.
“I always try to watch Liverpool’s games and look out for the results. I am very interested in how they are doing because they are so important in my life.”
Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho tweeted a video of him greeting Suarez, saying: “Special visit at Melwood!”
Suarez, who left Anfi eld for Barcelona for £ 75 million in the summer of 2014, later left about 1pm with Philippe Coutinho.
Spanish referee Carlos Velasco Carballo will take charge of the tie, having offi ciated in United’s 1- 1 draw with CSKA Moscow in the group stage of the Champions League earlier this season.
