MY SIX BEST ALBUMS

- CAROLINE REES

ANTONY COSTA, 34, is a member of the boy band Blue who had hits with All Rise, One Love and Guilty. He released a solo debut album in 2006 and starred on stage in Blood Brothers. He is touring in Save The Last Dance For Me. Kenwright. com OASIS: Defi nitely Maybe ( Creation) When I was at secondary school I was at my mate’s watching MTV and these lads from Manchester popped up with Live Forever. I thought: “Wow.”

I was a secret Take That fan but the Gallaghers had attitude. MICHAEL JACKSON: Off The Wall ( Sony) What Quincy Jones did with Jackson, going from a boy to a man, is genius. It takes me back to being a young lad when it was played in my house.

I Can’t Help It is one of my favourite Jacko songs. It’s got an amazing bassline. EARTH, WIND & FIRE: The Ultimate Collection ( Sony) My favourite band. Maurice White was a phenomenal writer and producer and wherever you hear September, everyone gets up and dances. Philip Bailey singing Fantasy is so soulful. It’s a legendary sound that I got into through my mum and dad. GEORGE MICHAEL: Older ( Virgin) I used to practise being George Michael in the mirror, wearing the shades and leather jacket. I love the man’s voice. When he came back with this album it meant so much to me, knowing the problems he’d been through. ELVIS PRESLEY: Elvis: That’s The Way It Is ( Sony) I remember my dad playing this in the car. Elvis had charisma. I used to watch videos of him in his 1968 comeback. He had a beautiful soul voice on songs like I Just Can’t Help Believing. I sing some of his songs in the show I’m doing. THE BEATLES: Rubber Soul ( EMI) This has Norwegian Wood on it, one of my favourite Beatles’ songs.

I don’t know what it means but I love the melody. The fi rst song I learnt on guitar, aged eight, was She Loves You.
