... BUT SELLERS TAKING OFFERS

-

SELLERS are knocking an average of £25,000 off the original asking price of properties in an attempt to woo buyers, research claims.

The typical discount on a UK home is now £25,265 – nearly £4,000 more than was offered in January, according to estate agent Zoopla.

Of all the homes currently for sale 29 per cent have had the price cut at least once since they were first listed. Eight of 10 areas with the most discounted homes are in the North.

Half of all properties in St Helens, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough have been marked down.
