Welfare bill will tumble if child benefit is capped
SURELY the place to start making a real impact on benefit reduction is with child benefit (“New drive to slash benefits”, May 7).
We read time and again of families with 11 children or more on benefits. It sometimes appears as though a pregnancy is regarded as a way to increase a family’s income.
Perhaps a cap on the number of children entitled to child benefit in one household would be a good place to start. Wendy Simmons, Leeds
