Teachers’ academy fury was all too predictable
MACER Hall reports on the failure of the Government to introduce academies (“Government U-turn on forced academies”, May 7).
Maybe an all-academy system was a bridge too far but, with predictable hostility, the teachers’ unions came out against it. With the UK’s world educational rating not even in the top 20 any more, any changes offering a chance to improve should be welcomed.
While there are many fine educational establishments already producing impressive results the rest seem resistant to change and content to wallow in mediocrity.
