Nature: Penguin A&E With Lorraine Kelly, 9pm, Channel 5

The evergreen Lorraine Kelly (left) visits Africa’s busiest penguin emergency department in this charming new four-part series. Each year the centre rescues more than 1,500 vulnerable creatures and works around the clock to rehabilitate them and nurture them back to health. As the series opens tonight we are introduced to vet Natasha, who is dealing with a feisty patient with a fish-hook in his stomach. The poor penguin, called Bandit, is far from happy with all the attention he is receiving and the team must use their expertise to firstly calm him down and then carry out an operation that nobody has ever attempted before – but will there be a happy ending?
