Bale out, but OK

- Andrew Gwilym

GARETH BALE has been left out of Wales’ Euro 2016 training squad – but there is no need for Dragons fans to panic.

Bale, 26, sat out Real Madrid’s La Liga win over Valencia with a knee problem but his absence from Chris Coleman’s 29-man squad is nothing to do with injury worries.

Bale will not be able to join their Algarve training camp because he will be preparing for Real’s Champions League final against city rivals Atletico in Milan.

And Real fully expect Bale to be fit and available in plenty of time for that showpiece and he will be in Coleman’s final 23 for the Euros in France when named on May 31. Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley has given Coleman an injury headache after he picked up an Achilles tendon problem against Stoke on Saturday.

It caused Coleman to delay his announcement, but Wales have been assured the damage is not serious, and he has been included, as have David Vaughan, Adam Matthews and Danny Ward, all of whom have had recent injury problems.
