Fewer marry in church? Good
THE number of couples opting for a church wedding has dropped to an all-time low. I am invited to lament this but instead feel tempted to cheer. It will be a good day when the only people to marry in church are those who believe in holy matrimony and in its indissolubility rather than those who merely want some sort of fancy dress parade in a quaint setting accompanied by the melodious refrain of pealing bells.
