Deals lead to Capita surge
SHARES in Capita jumped 54p to 1078p as it hailed a strong start to the year with contract wins of £458million.
The outsourcing group said it was on track to hit profit forecasts and its organic revenue growth target of at least 4 per cent this year on the back of deals with the likes of Debenhams, Volkswagen and local authorities. It has also shelled out £23million on four acquisitions.
Capita said some contract decisions on a bid pipeline of £4.7billion were taking “a little longer than expected to come through”, but there is a “strong” list of future prospects.
