Cheryl’s glowing thanks to her One Direction lover
WHAT a difference a new man makes! Singer Cheryl looks sensational as she poses on the red carpet at the Cannes film festival.
And observers say it is all down to her latest love, One Direction star Liam Payne, who escorted her to the festival’s Chopard Trophy event on Thursday.
Smiling widely and radiating health, Cheryl, 32, looked completely smitten with her 22-year-old beau, as she flaunted her curvier figure.
And last night she made another grand entrance looking every inch the glamorous star as she attended a Cannes film screening. Her captivating appearance was a far cry from last year when she looked ill and gaunt as her second marriage crumbled.

There were concerns for the singer and X Factor judge when her weight plummeted as it became apparent that her relationship with Frenchman Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini was doomed.
She filed for divorce in January over “irreconcilable differences” and her friends say that Cheryl is keen to officially drop Jean-Bernard’s surname. Her website and albums already feature only her first name.
Cheryl and Liam, who first met when she was on the X Factor judging panel and he auditioned as a freshfaced 14-year-old, have been dating since the start of this year.
They made their red carpet debut together at the Global Film Festival in Paris earlier this week. And at the Chopard Trophy ceremony dapper Liam, handsome in a black tuxedo, was clearly in love. The couple appeared to share a joke on the red carpet and hardly left one another’s side.
Cheryl, who has left X Factor to concentrate on singing, dazzled as she channelled her inner disco-diva in a bright, striped jumpsuit, teaming her confident party look with dramatic dark eye make-up. Other stars at the Cannes party included Oscarwinning Hunger Games actress Julianne Moore and Spider-Man’s Kirsten Dunst.
British actor John Boyega was awarded the prestigious Trophee Chopard, a prize given annually at the film festival to recognise young talent. The 24-year-old from Peckham, south London, shot to fame appearing in the latest Star Wars movie.
Cheryl’s ex, restaurateur Jean Bernard, was also in Cannes to promote his luxury food pop-up business, Cosy Box. They married in 2014 but the relationship is said to have soured over the language barrier. In September, Cheryl was pictured at the Pride of Britain Awards in London looking painfully thin. X Factor fans pleaded with the show’s boss Simon Cowell to “do something” as her weight appeared to nose-dive prior to last December’s live final.
The star’s new love appears to have put a smile back on her face and her figure is back to its best. And could Cheryl, who has gone from being Miss Tweedy to Mrs Ashley Cole to Mrs Fernandez-Versini, be in for another surname change... to Payne?
