Drug fridge dad jailed
POLICE searching the home of a father-of-four found £175,000 of Class A drugs in his fridge.
The raid on John Atkinson’s home in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, came after a tip-off.
Preston Crown Court heard officers opened his fridge to find 1,066 LSD tablets, heroin, cocaine, 1,500 mephedrone tablets, 2,260 ecstasy tablets and 21oz of amphetamines.
They also seized £2,000 in cash.
Atkinson, 36, was beginning a six-year jail sentence yesterday.
He admitted five counts of possession with intent to supply.
His partner Christina Russell, 37, admitted money laundering and was given a suspended nine-month sentence.
