EDEN HAZARD gave his best performance yet for Belgium and is on the same level as Gareth Bale as one of the greatest players in the world, according to team-mate Toby Alderweireld.

Chelsea forward Hazard was in inspired form on Sunday as Belgium beat Hungary 4-0 to set up a quarterfinal clash with Bale and his Wales side on Friday.

Spurs defender Alderweireld said: “He was fantastic. When he plays like he did, he is one of the best in the world – he can compete with anyone. Hopefully he can keep level up.”

However, he had similar praise for former Tottenham player Bale and knows it will not be easy against Wales. “He’s one of the best players in the world, with his all-round game,” said Alderweireld.
