Hill’s right, we’ll not take a shabby ‘half-out’ deal
PETER Hill hit the nail on the head when he said it’s time we faced the fact that membership of the single market and free movement of labour are inseparable (August 23).
Having lost the referendum, the Remoaners are now advocating a kind of compromise on unfettered immigration, seemingly as a levy for access to the market.
When will they see immigration was a deciding factor in the referendum result and not something to be traded away?
Theresa May must stress the people did not reject Cameron’s “half-in” EU proposal only to see it replaced by some shabby form of “half out” compromise. Roy Daniels, Luton, Beds
