The high-tech

-

THERE is no doubt that technology moves quickly in the beauty industry and it doesn’t take long for what was once a red-hot treatment to become old news. This autumn there are a number of exciting new procedures that promise to smooth wrinkles, tighten the midriff and banish a double chin.

We’ve rounded up our pick of the best new treatments below.

DOUBLE CHIN MELTER

Belkyra, a new injectable treatment that is available in the UK later this year, promises to banish a double chin by permanently dissolving fat cells.

Each treatment can require up to 50 injections in the under-chin area, depending on the amount of fat.

Most patients will require between three and six treatments, a month apart. There may be some discomfort and swelling can occur for a few days afterwards.

Results are permanent.

THE 180-NEEDLE FACIAL

Dermafrac is a new micro-needling treatment that promises to resurface and improve skin tone and texture without any pain or recovery time.

The procedure uses a pen-shaped roller which is covered in 180 super-fine needles. While this is rolled across the face, an infusion packed with growth factors is released to help boost cell turnover.

The Dermafrac needles penetrate the skin at just the right level to stimulate collagen production. The treatment leaves skin immediately plump and refined. For best results six treatments are recommended, two to four weeks apart. From £150 per treatment, call 0845 602 1161 for more details.

SPIDER WEB FACE LIFT

Thread lifts have been one of this year’s fastest-growing procedures and this latest version is ideal for lifting and tightening sagging skin.

During the procedure, multiple threads are inserted into the deep tissues of the skin and crossed over each other to create a frame that looks like a spider’s web, hence the name.

Results are similar to a surgical lift,
