Will Katy’s feud now end Swiftly?
KATY PERRY is prepared to end her bitter five-year feud with pop rival Taylor
Swift – if she apologises. For the first time since the rift Katy has now held out an olive branch and sent fans into a tizzy by suggesting she’d be up for a duet with the 26-year-old.
When asked by fans in a twitter Q&A yesterday if there is a chance the pair could work together Katy, pictured left, main, replied: “If she says sorry, sure!”
The former pals – currently two of the biggest pop stars in the world – fell out in 2012 after Taylor publicly claimed that in the middle of her RED tour Katy poached three of her key backing dancers – throwing things into disarray.
Taylor, left, then wrote song Bad Blood and told Rolling Stone magazine it was
about a fellow musician with whom she was enemies. “She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,” Taylor said.
“She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And i’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much i hate conflict.
“So now i have to avoid her. it’s awkward and i don’t like it.”
However 31-year-old Katy’s parents, Mary and Keith, suggest that their daughter’s recent peace offering may only have been tongue-in-cheek.
“Katy released [her song] rise. it says, ‘my feet have been put to the fire but i will rise [above Taylor’s accusations].’
“That’s what she’s about right now,” said mary.
Keith added: “You know it [the feud] ain’t over yet.”
