Anti-Brexit mob in Proms protest

-

THE Last night Of The Proms turned into a flag-waving battlefield after anti-Brexit campaigners tried to hijack the concert.

Hundreds of EU flags were waved at the event on Saturday night.

A campaign organiser wrote: “As music is such an international activity that benefits greatly from our membership of the EU, this feels an appropriate venue to show UK solidarity with the EU.” The campaign was backed by the musicians’ Union.

in response Arron Banks, the millionaire Ukip backer, said he would pay £5,000 for 10,000 Union flags to be handed out to those going inside the royal Albert Hall.

One concert-goer, Edwin rye, said: “it’s a fun night, not a political rally. it’s a lovely bit of British eccentricity and that’s how it should stay.”
