Phil puts ref on the spot
BOLTON boss Phil Parkinson was fuming at referee Peter Bankes despite a 1-1 draw with MK Dons ensuring their longest unbeaten start to a season in 16 years.
Kieran Agard had a penalty saved brilliantly by Bolton goalkeeper Mark Howard and Parkinson said: “Mark was magnificent but the penalty decision was a joke. If there was an infringement then it started outside the box and then the lad threw himself to the floor.”
Dons boss Karl Robinson said: “I’m not happy with a point. I just want to scream.”
Manager Phil Brown knows he is under pressure after Southend plunged to a 4-0 defeat at in-form Scunthorpe.
“It was not acceptable and I can only apologise to the fans 100 per cent,” said Brown. “But I know I am up for the fight here.”
