Christian shows faith in Palace
CHRISTIAN BENTEKE is relishing a lavish lifestyle at the Palace after enduring a strict diet for two years.
And while a switch from Liverpool to Selhurst Park suggests a downward trajectory, that is not the way Benteke, below, sees it. He is convinced Alan Pardew’s attackminded side will bring out the best in him, having struggled to adapt to Jurgen Klopp’s methods.
The opener – a far-post header from Wilfried Zaha’s inviting cross – was typical Benteke, and he said: “I feel like I can score a lot of goals in this team. We

can play long balls, short passes, and we can play behind the defence.”
Daniel Ayala equalised but Zaha won it for Palace. Nothing delighted Pardew more than seeing Zaha so committed just a fortnight after he looked to be on his way to Tottenham. “If I was to mark him, I’d give him a 10,” he said. “I have been in the position when you cannot get anything out of a player. That’s not the case with Wilf. I can’t ask for more.”
