Rashford U-turn for Jose
JOSE MOURINHO will hand Marcus Rashford his first start of the season in Holland on Thursday after admitting he blundered by not picking the striker to start the Manchester derby.
The 18-year-old, below, will be one of a number of changes Mourinho will make for Manchester United’s Europa League trip to Feyenoord as he shakes up his team after the psychologically damaging defeat against City.
He ignored the pre-derby clamour to pick Rashford and instead selected Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard.
Both players were off the pace and out of touch and Mourinho was forced to haul them both off at half-time to send on Rashford and Ander Herrera, which sparked an immediate improvement.
Mourinho said of Rashford: “The next big game is against Feyenoord and he is going to play. I trust him completely. I know his future will be absolutely brilliant.”
