THESE eye-popping creatures are not aliens from outer space but damselflies covered in dew.
The tiny insects were spotted by photographer Alberto Ghizzi Panizza on a flower by the Po river in northern Italy.
Their large compound eyes contain thousands of receptors

to give them a wide angle view. Mr Panizza said: “The flies wait in the sun to dry their wings before flying away.”
He added: “I like to show in the small world of insects, we can find very interesting situations which can be really funny and nice.”
