Damselflie­s are eye-popping...

THESE eye-popping creatures are not aliens from outer space but damselflie­s covered in dew.

The tiny insects were spotted by photograph­er Alberto Ghizzi Panizza on a flower by the Po river in northern Italy.

Their large compound eyes contain thousands of receptors

He added: “I like to show in the small world of insects, we can find very interestin­g situations which can be really funny and nice.”
