£4billion Parliament bill is a joke, make it a museum

-

I WAS astounded to learn the repairs to the Houses of Parliament are going to cost £4billion (“Parliament repairs ‘will top £4bn’”, October 11).

Rather than spend money like that, why not turn it into a public attraction? A new seat of government could be built with accommodation for MPs, thereby doing away with the need for funding second homes.

They could have offices and other facilities on hand. MPs could “live in”, eating and drinking like all working people. The practice of subsidised meals and drinks should be scrapped too.

The Lords could be turned into a museum, with some of the present incumbents as exhibits!
