Let’s get out of this awful dictatorship right away

SO the EU has repeated that the UK cannot have access to the free market without accepting other freedoms. The reason given is that if they permit this everyone else will want to do it (“‘Clean break is the only way forward for Britain’”, October 14).

Can you imagine a mobile phone manufacturer which only produces a phone with a black-and-white screen? The marketing director says the Japanese want a colour screen. The CEO vetoes this on the grounds that if they do it everyone else will want one.

The EU is a dictatorship. It is run by an elite who think they know what is best for their people.

I’m so glad we are leaving. It might be painful for a bit but it is worth it to regain our freedom. David Woodley,
