Walsh celebrates his sixth National
RUBY WALSH, right, became a national hero for the sixth time after partnering Rawnaq to victory in Saturday’s America Grand National.
Walsh was adding to his success in the British, Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Australian Grand National.
Rawnaq proved too strong for Scorpiancer in the $350,00 prize, which took place at Far Hills. Sharp Rise, trained by Charlie Longsdon, finished third with the Nicky Henderson runner Days Of Heaven unplaced. Winning connections now have their eyes on the $500,000 bonus if he wins this season’s World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
