Liverpool ready for acid test
ARE Liverpool genuine contenders for the title?
The question is a fair one for the 7-2 second favourites, and perhaps tonight we will see what they are made of against Manchester United.
The simple fact is that despite their frustrating draw at home to Everton, Manchester City look better than the rest and neutrals are desperate for another side to come from the pack. Liverpool are clear favourites tonight at 6-5, with a stuttering United offered at 13-5, although like all games we are hoping will be a barnstormer, the chances are it will be a draw, which is a 9-4 shot.
Cometh the game, cometh the player – Zlatan Ibrahimovic is an enhanced 6-1 from 4-1 to score in a United victory, but I am having a couple of quid on Sadio Mane scoring in a Liverpool victory at 3-1.
Results at the other end this weekend seem to have confirmed the three most likely relegation candidates are Burnley (1-2), Sunderland (4-7) and Hull (8-13), all of whom are odds on to go down.
