YOU CAN’T HURT ROO ANY MORE Pep to go on attack in Barcelona

- Richard Tanner

PEP GUARDIOLA has warned Barcelona: I’m coming back to beat you.

The Manchester City boss is unbowed by a three-match winless run and says he will not abandon his principles to avoid defeat at his former club in the Champions League on Wednesday.

“Not many teams have won there in recent years but I never approach a game thinking a draw will be a good result,” he said. “I know the way we want to play but, of course, we have to understand exactly who we’re facing.

“Will a draw be a good result? If we play like we did against Everton it is not. But if Barcelona play much better than us then maybe it is a good result.

“Barcelona are special in the way they play. They are a machine.”

Guardiola is ready to leave the penalty-taking to Sergio Aguero, despite the striker missing a sixth spot-kick of 2016 in the 1-1 draw with Everton. Guardiola, who admitted City do not practise penalties, said: “I love the players who have the personality to take penalties.

“So I will never say no to a player who wants to take the penalties.” THUMBS UP: A positive Guardiola
