Trump very easy to talk to, says PM
DONALD Trump and Theresa May are quickly developing a rapport, the Prime Minister says.
Mrs May has found the US President-elect “easy to talk to” in two phone conversations since the tycoon won the race to the White House last month.
Mrs May disclosed her assessment to reporters yesterday. She said: “What I’ve found with Donald Trump is that he is somebody who very much values the relationship he has with the UK.
“That has been one of the key things we have talked about, the depth of our special relationship and the fact that we both want to ensure not just that we maintain that but also build on that.”
Asked how she found the President-elect, she said he was “very easy to talk to”.
Officials are working to arrange for the two to meet for the first time at the White House after his January inauguration.
Mrs May is today due to signal her determination to back Mr Trump in confronting global threats including the danger Iran poses to the West.
