Jungle star Larry has new love after split with partner

- By Michael Knowles

ACTOR Larry Lamb has split from his partner of 20 years, Clare Burt.

Larry’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! campmate Martin Roberts yesterday revealed the former EastEnders star, 69, had a “lovely new lady”.

French artist Marie Hugo was seen on TV greeting the actor as he left the jungle last week and was described by producers as “Larry’s friend”.

But Homes Under The Hammer host Martin, speaking about making up with the actor after a rocky relationship in the camp, said: “By the time it was our final morning, who should walk up but Larry and his lovely new lady Marie?”

The pair were first spotted together at a charity function in Hereford in October. But Larry was believed to be still in a relationship with actress Clare when he entered the jungle for the hit ITV series last month.

He has been married three times, to Anita Wiseby, American nurse Jacquie Parris, whom he met while working as a car salesman in Germany, and finally Irish singer Linda Martin. After their divorce in 1996, he began dating Clare, but the couple never wed.

Jungle campmates Larry and Martin finally made up after falling out.

Martin said: “It was the last time I was probably going to see them and I just grabbed Larry and hugged him. And I kept hold of him and said, ‘This is a real hug’.

“I just thought I need to do something here.

“He just broke down in tears. He said, ‘I am so, so sorry about the way I acted towards you, and I am so sorry about what I said’.”

When Larry was evicted from the jungle camp and met up with Marie, the Frenchwoman told show hosts Ant and Dec: “I am very proud of Larry.

“He has been busy looking after everybody, which I must say he does always.

“I will give him a big hug. He deserves it, more than one.” Larry had earlier told campmates of his heartbreak over his “long-lost” daughter, whom he has not seen in 46 years.

He opened up about his daughter Vanessa, by first wife Anita.

The veteran actor shared the story with his campmates after Emmerdale star Adam Thomas asked if he was a grandfather.

Larry said: “I’ve got a daughter you know, a longlost daughter, so I might be. She was adopted by her mum’s new husband, so I never had anything to do with her and you can’t just go bouncing back into someone’s life.”

Last week he made an emotional plea for Vanessa to get in contact.

He said: “I have to say if my daughter or my granddaughter were to contact me, I, and all my extended family, would be thrilled.”
