No Vroum at Kempton

VROUM VROUM MAG is a surprise omission from the 32Red Christmas Hurdle at Kempton this afternoon.

“All is fine with her,” said Patrick Mullins, son of the mare’s trainer Willie.

“Willie just decided keep her at home Christmas.

“It’s probably a bit up in the air which race she’ll run in at this stage.

“They’ve all got another bit of work to do so we’ll see where we are this week.

Vroum Vroum Mag, the impressive winner of the Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, has numerous he’d this entries over the festive period at Leopardstown.

These include the Squared Financial Christmas Hurdle, the Lexus Chase and the Ryanair Hurdle.

At Leopardstown Identity Thief and Min are the stars among the seven horses declared for the Racing Post Novice Chase.

Identity Thief, a former leading hurdler, is two from two since having his attentions turned to fences this season, most recently winning the Grade Two Craddockstown Novice Chase at Punchestown.

His trainer Henry De Broomhead also saddles Ordinary World and Three Stars.

Willie Mullins claimed this Grade One prize for the third time in five years with the brilliant Douvan 12 months ago and now relies on the exciting Min.

Runner-up to Altior in last season’s Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham, the five-year-old made a flying start to his chasing career with a stylish 10-length victory at Navan last month.
