FREAK ACCIDENT NEARLY KILLED HIM

THE Bafta-nominated actor returned to the hit show after cheating death in a freak accident in 1990.

He was left critically ill in hospital after a wooden advertising hoarding smashed through his car windscreen, pictured left, during a January storm.

Kaye was left with a scar on his forehead and no memory of the accident. However, he recovered to resume his career and when asked about the incident he shrugged: “I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

He was involved in another bizarre incident in 1997 when starring in Travels With My Aunt at the Oxford Playhouse when a pile of suitcases toppled over, just missing him.
